Congratulations Tim!

Tim was hired for a marketing job on Friday and starts next week. He's back in MO getting some things in order. They found an apartment as well. The Lord is very good! Thanks for all the prayer. I, Mama, will not go into detail because, as you know, I will probably not get it all straight. So.... I'll let Tim and Becca do a post when they get time.

Tim in Nashville

Tim has two interviews this week in Nashville. One is on Wednesday and the other on Thursday. He may also look for an apartment while he's there. He's done with Air Force work so he has freedom to go for interviews now. Pray that the Lord will lead him to just the right job.

Prayer request

Josh's Aunt Sharon just found out that she is battling colon cancer which may have spread already. Pray for the many facets that news like this can play in one's life. She knows the Lord so we can be thankful for that. Pray that God will use this for his glory and that Sharon will have peace and be able to trust Him in every way. We can also ask the Lord to take the cancer away too!

Pray for Bobby

Please pray for my brother, Bobby, while he is fighting for our country in Iraq for the next year (or longer). I miss him like crazy, but know he is in God's hands. He left on September 6, 2008 and is traveling at the moment to his unknown actual destination. I will let everyone know how to pray when we get more details. Thanks for your prayer support.

Jacob's Birthday

Jacob turned 6 yesterday! I can't believe how fast time goes. We had a birthday party at home with some good old fashioned games including lifesavers and tootpicks, eggs and spoons, and waterballoons! The parents loved us! LOL. He enjoyed having his friends from school there to celebrate. He has been counting down to this day for 6 weeks, so he was pretty happy that it finally arrived. Now he wants Matthew to have his birthday. Here are a couple of pictures from his party.

I made two cakes in a 24 hour period. One for Anna, my best friend and one for Jacob. They have the same birthday, September 6th. What a whirlwind, but I will say that I think they turned out pretty good. And they tasted amazing too. I am gonna add the inside of the "princess cake" I made. It was 4 layers with chocolate frosting between 3 of the layers...yummy! I had so much fun doing this for two people I love very much.

Hanna was a lady!

As far as our immediate area, Hanna was really just a storm. Only about 1 inch of rain for Norfolk (Richmond got 5+ inches). We had a few small limbs come out of the pecan tree but nothing more than a messy yard. Don't think Ike will deliver much rain to us but there is still hope. North Carolina was also spared any real catastrophe.

We are thankful for being spared the full force that many people DID feel in the islands.
