Peanut Butter Chewys

PEANUT BUTTER CHEWIES

Put one cup of corn syrup and one cup of sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil until the sugar is dissolved and clear. Remove from heat and add two cups of peanut butter. Stir until completely mixed. Pour over corn flakes....about 12 oz.... that's a small box or half a big one.
Mix together and form into balls about the size of a walnut. Cool on a cookie sheet.... that's all there is to it! You can also change up your cereal or add things like raisins or whatever you think will go with peanut butter.

December

It's been a long time since I've posted anything here. Seems like facebook has taken over but just in case any of my extended family check it out around this time of year I'd better get cracking and put something on here.
Corrie and Zoe came over to check out the snow!

We had just a dusting... Aunt Sue described it as just the perfect amount of powdered sugar

Like most of the country right now we are experiencing an abnormal arctic freeze but it does get us in the Christmas mood!

Getting ready to go to Beth and TJ's for Christmas. Papa is in NC right now giving much needed support to his brothers and sisters who are in fragile health right now but he hopes to join us at Beth's by Christmas. David may come for a day or so after his vacation in Florida (getting away from all this freeeeeezzzzzing weather)
Should be a great time!

Early Spring

Spring is bursting out! I love it!
In the backyard the plum tree and the bridal wreath are blooming together this year.
In the front bed the azaleas are about to burst open. I don't remember the name of the bush next to it but I LOVE it. This is it's second year and it has really gotten a good hold.

The Dogwood is opening at the bottom first but should be all the way out in a couple of days.

Papa thinks these tulips are ones he planted two years ago. They didn't do much last year but with all the snow and rain we had I think they are very happy!

These little Jonny Jump-ups are very sweet and last longer than the traditional pansy.

These are the single stalk Hyacinths are not blooming yet but by the foliage they should be very healthy.
Pink Dutch Almond, Forsythia and Bridal Wreath (actually it isn't Bridal Wreath but I call it that)
Periwinkle
Pansies
Papa's ducks hiding in the Periwinkle....
